Everything We Need Can Be Found In Him

Just a quick thought I want to share with you:

Whatever our need is, Jesus is the only One who can meet it perfectly. Whatever our void is, He is the only One who can fill it to overflowing.

Let’s take our needs, our emptiness…our everything – to Jesus today. Let’s tell Him we trust Him to deliver. And then let’s step back and watch Him work in our lives in the way only He can.

“And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Col. 1:17 ESV

Who Am I?

“Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name; would care to feel my hurt? Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star would choose to light the way for my ever wandering heart?”

And oh, do I have a wandering heart. It wanders from the path God has graciously laid out for me. It strays from His love, His peace, and His wisdom and tries to find those things from different sources. And still…in the middle of my meandering mess, God continues to pursue me and light the way. That is an out-of-this-world type of love that we can’t genuinely grasp until we start striving to get closer to God!

Who am I? Someone who doesn’t deserve God’s eternal, extraordinary love. And who is He? Someone who tells me I am His. Amazing…

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Lyrics: Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name; would care to feel my hurt? Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star would choose to light the way for my ever wandering heart?

Not because of who I am but because of what You’ve done. Not because of what I’ve done but because of who You are.

I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow. A wave tossed in the ocean; a vapor in the wind. Still You hear me when I’m calling. Lord, You catch me when I’m falling. And You’ve told me who I am. I am Yours, I am Yours.

Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin would look on me with love and watch me rise again? Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea would call out through the rain and calm the storm in me?

Not because of who I am but because of what You’ve done. Not because of what I’ve done but because of who You are.

I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow. A wave tossed in the ocean; a vapor in the wind. Still You hear me when I’m calling. Lord, You catch me when I’m falling. And You’ve told me who I am. I am Yours, I am Yours.

He Has Us Covered

Ever since I can remember, I have had a comfortable, continual conversation with Jesus. Engaging in silent prayer regardless of where I am or what I am doing has been a natural part of my daily rhythm – most of the time.

However, there have been brief periods when intense emotional pain disrupted that rhythm and rendered me speechless before Jesus. When I have been unable to articulate a prayer amid hardship, a particular Bible verse has become a lifeline. Romans 8:26 says, “In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings.” Friends, in our silence, the Holy Spirit lifts our burdens to the throne of Jesus on our behalf! Thank the Lord there is no communication gap when our pain temporarily prevents us from expressing our needs.

When we do not have the strength to pray, be encouraged – the Holy Spirit has us covered.
