Let the Writer of Our Story be the Author of Our Identity (Our Identity in Christ ~ Day 2 of 3)

If there are times when we question who we are in the sight of God, it is important to remember He has made the answer available to us. Diving into the Bible is the ideal way to discover how He defines us.

The following truths are directly from the Word of God, and therefore directly from the heart of God!

  1. We are intensely, intimately, and immeasurably loved by Jesus.

Romans 8:38-39, John 3:16, Psalm 36:7

2. We are forgiven. 1 John 1:9

3. We are a friend of Jesus. John 15:14

4. We are chosen. 1 Peter 2:9

5. We are God’s children. 1 John 3:1-2

6. We are sung over by Jesus. Zephaniah 3:17

7. We are saved. Ephesians 2:8-9

And this list is just a start! There are many more beautiful descriptors in the Bible that we are entitled to lay claim to as part of our identity; words such as redeemed, victorious, and saint that prove the amazing extent to which God loves and values us.

May we fully embrace what God says about us. May every authentic Biblical label take precedence over any voice that tries to attach a negative label to us. May we allow the Writer of our story to be the Author of our identity.
